Welcome and Introduction

CTJ Housing Trust exists to increase social rented housing in Jersey

Christians Together in Jersey, concerned about the lack of social rented housing for Jersey residents, sponsored the formation of the CTJ Housing Trust. Registered in the Royal Court in January 1996 as a non-profit making organisation, the CTJ Housing Trust has grown from small beginnings to currently owning more than 143 properties in five island locations. The appointment of Trustees is made by CTJ and confirmed by the States of Jersey Housing Minister.

How Do I Apply?

Housing Trust properties can be let only to those on the Affordable Housing Gateway list.

You need to register your interest via the Affordable Housing Gateway Team. You will be required to complete an application form. You can either request the department to send one to you, or you can download it here.

Once your completed application form and supporting documents have been submitted to the Affordable Housing Gateway, you will be contacted by the Gateway Team who will provide you with further guidance. You will be invited to attend a short meeting with them to discuss your application and, if successful, you will be provided with a Gateway reference number which will be uploaded onto the Gateway waiting list of applicants in order of need.

Priority is given to those who find themselves homeless and those in emergency situations, so you may not be offered accommodation immediately, depending on your current housing situation. Should your circumstances change once you have registered, please advise the Gateway Team who will re-evaluate your application.

Maillard & Co constantly reviews the "Gateway" and will contact you directly should they have a suitable property available. Should you be interested in viewing, the Property Manager will arrange to meet with you at the property. If you wish to move in, the Property Manager will give you one-on-one support and after you have moved in will continue to give assistance when required.

Funding of the Trust

Funding for projects is provided by our bankers on a commercial basis. We receive a subsidy from the States relating to the interest rates payable by the Trust. For further financial information, please see the download section below.

We aim to act at all times in a fair and compassionate manner but are mindful too that we have to repay the loans from the banks that have allowed us to acquire, build or refurbish our properties.
